KALLARA: The Pangode police arrested a youth for stealing the ornaments of an 80-year-old-woman after sexually abusing her. The youth has been identified as Sumesh Chandran of Konni. He was the second mahout of the elephant owned by a private person. He was arrested from Kottarakkara yesterday evening. The incident happened on the morning of November 27. He committed the crime after taking her to a nearby bush when she was going to the temple. He later left in an auto from there. A look out notice was issued to trace him. The accused was produced in the court.
