THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC's decision to cut down the services following the termination of M-Panel employees have affected the passengers in central and northern Kerala. 850 employees were terminated in the north region. Passengers waited for the buses. Passengers in the rural areas are highly relying on the parallel services.
403 services were stopped in Ernakulam. Long-distance services to Kumali and Pampa were also stopped. 483 M-Panel employees were terminated in the district. Passengers on the Ernakulam-Kolancheri-Muvattupuzha and Perumbavur-Moovattupuzha routes were also affected. 622 services have ended in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta districts.
The crisis will can be solved by commencing atleast 80 percent schedules. Employees had been deployed in 1000 schedules. Conductors on leave are directed to rejoin immediately. KSRTC is attempting to start maximum number of services by using permanent employees. KSRTC earned Rs 7.49 crores on Monday. Rs 56.27 lakh was earned from Pampa special services. The earnings are likely to reduce in the next few days.
