THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: To tide over the staff crisis in the KSRTC, more appointments will be made from PSC rank list very soon, KSRTC MD Tomin Thachankary has said at a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram.
The processes which usually takes two month will be finished within two weeks, as the present situation demands so. Though there was shortage of staff, it had affected the income of the KSRTC. On Monday itself, the income was 7.49 crore. Not only that the company could save diesel worth Rs 17 lakh. But the shortage of staff will be addressed very soon by following the direction of the court.
“Those who are appointed will be given two days’ training. After that a conductor exam will be held and those who pass the exam will be given the licence the very next day. Then, training to handle ticket machine will be given. In the initial days they will be put on duty in routes near the city,” he said on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the KSRTC MD said that those who are appointed afresh won’t be appointed as permanent employees. “They will be given only the salary of temporary employees. They will be made permanent later after the evaluation of their job,” he added.
