THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state leaders including Vellanad S Krishna Kumar decided to resign from the party in protest against anti-democratic events that happened and against the double standard of the party on the Sabarimala issue. It has been hinted that the leaders will join the CPM. BJP state panel member Vellanad S Krishna Kumar, former RMP state committee member and currently BJP leader Uzhamalakkal Jayakumar are holding a press meet.

Even while claiming that BJP is a democratic political movement and in the worst political atmosphere in Sabarimala, the party was not ready to convene a state committee meet, alleged the leaders. The agendas of the RSS leadership are executed in the state. The release issued has stated that they cannot continue in the party and so are joining the CPM.

The BJP and the RSS leadership were of the stand that women between the age group of 10-50 can visit Sabarimala. Women from the young lawyers association who approached the Supreme Court were associated with the Sangh.
