KOTTAYAM: Kasargod Mezhuvathattungal Satheesh Babu (Satheesh Nair-38), the convict in the case in which sister Amala of Carmalite seminary was clubbed to death, has been sentenced to life
The order was delivered by Pala Additional Sessions Court. The accused was also fined Rs 2,10,000 under different sections of IPC. If he doesn’t pay fine, he will have to undergo additional imprisonment of six years and nine months.
Sister Amala’s body was found on September 17, 2015 on the third floor of the Covent. Satheesh Babu hit on sister Amala’s head during a burglary attempt. In the questioning, he reportedly confessed that he was behind the murder of sister Jose Maria. He was arrested from Haridwar.
In the Amala murder case, special prosecutor George Boban had appeared. Satheesh Babu is an accused in robberies committed in a number of seminaries.
