NEW DELHI: In 2014 Loksabha elections, BJP made all their opponents irrelevant. The margin of victory was massive. The trend continued in the elections that followed. Despite the recent setback in the Assembly elections in five northern states, BJP expects to win in 2019 Loksabha elections.
Congress, who didn’t had any response before 2016, have come up with a clear strategy to tackle BJP. The party is keeping track of his political speeches made by Amit Shah in rallies ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Congress sources say that the party already has a “Modi speech counter” that keeps an eye on all speeches that the Prime Minister makes, especially during campaigning. Now, a team is being put in place to monitor the speeches and rallies of Amit Shah.
A report of these speeches is compiled and shared with senior leadership, including Congress president Rahul Gandhi. They then decide whether to respond immediately through a press conference or through social media.
This strategy has been successful, says Congress leaders owing to the success in the recent elections. Wrong facts made by Amit Shah and Narendra Modi will be put to knife by the team placed by Congress. For 2019, the party has already placed a team to track and counter.
