KOCHI: Kerala government is in another trouble over Women Wall after interim order of High Court was made public. Earlier, the government had to change their stand on the use of government funds for Women Wall. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had said that the proposed program on New Year would not be conducted with the government fund. “The 50 crore is set aside for the welfare activities of women. But the rumours that it would be spent for woman wall is not true”, CM said. The government also claimed that the court misinterpreted the submitted affidavit.
But the HC order clearly reads that government has informed that it will utilize funds set aside for women empowerment for Women Wall. But as it is a government initiative the court won’t interfere. However HC should be informed about the details of expenditure.
Chief Minister’s Office issued a press release on Friday that news regarding the usage of government funds was baseless. Now as the interim order says otherwise, government have to go through the trouble of explaining their stand.
