THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Political observer advocate Jayashankar has come forward expressing his opinion on the Manithi group's attempt to enter Sabarimala temple. The Manithi team from Tamil Naud who moved to Sannidhanam to pray at Sabarimala had returned back following protest of devotees. This incident makes me remember former chief minister K Karunakaran, noted advocate Jayashankar on Facebook.
'The crucifix of Thoma Sleeha was found at Nilakkal when K Karunakaran was the Chief Minister in 1983. Kanjirappalli metropolitan tried to build a church following this. This resulted in a backlash in central travancore and people tried to attack and disgrace Karunakaran. However, he was able to settle the issue smoothly. But, now when I see women members of 'Manithi' running back from Sabarimala, I understand the greatness of Karunakaran', said Jayashankar.
