KARAMANA: A woman was killed in an accident near Karamana bridge in Thiruvananthapuram. Anitha (36) of laksham veedu colony in Kulathoor died after hitting head on a road divider. She was returning to her home after office on her scooter. A loose rope from a truck running in front of her caught the scooter’s stand and silencer, thereby dragging it along. Anitha, who lost control, fell head first on to a road divider. She was rushed to the nearby hospital, but couldn’t be saved.

Funeral will be held at Thumbakkal laksham veedu cemetery on Monday morning.

Children: Ankit (16), Sowmya (14), Anush (12)

Driver of the truck involved in the accident, Tiruchirappalli native Chakravarthy, was taken into police custody.
