KARAMANA: A woman was killed in an accident near Karamana bridge in Thiruvananthapuram. Anitha (36) of laksham veedu colony in Kulathoor died after her head hit on a road divider. She was returning home after work on her scooter. A loose rope from a truck running in front of her caught the scooter’s stand and silencer, thereby dragging it along for some distance.

Anitha, who lost control, fell and hit her head on the road divider. She was rushed to the nearby hospital, but couldn’t be saved.

Funeral will be held at Thumbakkal laksham veedu cemetery on Monday morning.

Children: Ankit (16), Sowmya (14), Anush (12)

Driver of the truck involved in the accident and Tiruchirappalli native Chakravarthy was taken into police custody.
