KOZHIKODE: Central Intelligence has revealed that at least 300 women of menstrual age plans to trek Sabarimala before December 27. 1000 men will accompany them. Recently, several women tried to trek Sabarimala with no success. This is believed to be a rehearsal for the grand plans in the coming days.

CPIM activists from Thalassery, Vadakara and Koyilandi areas will lead this. They are campaigning Sabarimala women entry through a Facebook page ‘Navodhana Keralam Sabarimalayilekk’ which translates to ‘Uprising Kerala to Sabarimala’ and some Whatsapp groups. Women from outside Kerala will also join them. Several leftist organizations and Manithi group are behind such a platform. Koyilandi native Bindu who tried to trek Sabarimala yesterday, is a member of this group. Some other women are also preparing to visit the shrine.

Why 23 to 27?

RSS is conducting ITC camps at 37 centres in Kerala from December 22 to 29. There will be around 350 activists in one camp. Women organizations assume that this is the perfect time to trek Sabarimala as magnitude of protests will be much less.
