KOCHI: Sabarimala Karma Samithy has said that the government will be responsible for any backlash if the latter join hands with Maoist organisations and try to breach traditions by taking young women into Sabarimala temple.

“The Central agencies should probe the Maoist-CPM connections of the women who tried to climb the holy hillock. We shall start a strong agitation if drama is again enacted to take women into the temple,” Samithy president K P Sasikala and General Secretary SJR Kumar said at a press conference.

They alleged that it was the conspiracy of the CPM and the government to take women to Sabarimala, which had been otherwise peaceful. They got the protection of police from Tamil Nadu. The NIA should probe the Maoist connection of the Manithi group.

“If there is any provocation during Mandalam season, the police won’t be able to control the crowd. It will result in repercussions. Karma Samithi will not have any role in it.”

The Samithy members said that they would not oppose Women’s wall. “The CPM, which used to build chains and walls on its own, is now seeking the help of officers and community organisations for building the Women’s wall. This is proof of the fact that party workers are distancing themselves from the party.”
