THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former DGP T P Senkumar has said Ayyappa Jyothi is being organised to remove darkness and bring in light. “What is wrong with the CPM if I take part in it,” he quipped.

“The government should have focussed on flood relief measures instead of organising Women’s wall.”

Sabarimala Karma Samithy is organising Ayyappa Jyothi against Women’s wall from Kasargod to Parassala. Senkumar will take part at Thiruvananthapuram Kilimanoor.

“People who are making allegations against me are the ones who had tried to trap me in fake cases and failed disgracefully. It is I who deicide in which programme I should participate. I have the constitutional right to do what I feel is right. Some people like it and some don’t…. The government will be able to provide relief aids to flood-affected people if they take just half the effort they put in to ‘build’ Women’s Wall.

About 2000 people are still staying in relief camps. Kerala government has been able to collect about Rs 3000 crore besides receiving the Centre’s financial aid. If the government spends just Rs 200 crore out of that, they will be able to build 3000 houses. This is what the State government should have been doing,” Sen Kumar added.
