KOZHIKODE: A man who ditched his wife and kid to elope with his lover was nabbed by Nallalam police after one and a half month's dramatic incidents.

The hero of the story is S Sandeep (34), who is a native of Kuttiyadi Mokeri and marketing manager of Ibird company in Kozhikode Highlight business park.

On November 24, he had left home, saying that he was going for trekking in Karnataka.

As he didn't return even after two days and his mobile phone went out of range, wife Viji gave a missing complaint to Nallalam police station.

The police passed the information to Karnataka police.

During the search, his bike was spotted from Shrinkeri Koppa-Harihara route; broken pieces of his watch was also found there. He was presumed to be dead after police combed the Tungabhadra river in vain.

As the investigation was going on, Medical College police got a missing complaint that Kozhikode Thondayadu native Ashwini had also gone missing from December 10. Both had worked together for some time in ibird.

Tracing their phone call, the police first reached Mumbai but by then, the couple had gone Punjab.

Police went to a flat in Thane where Sandeep had paid advance in order to hire it. Police made the flat owner call him to the flat.
When the couple reached the flat, the police team led Nallalam SI P Ramakrishnan took them into custody.

He told the police that he had created situations to give the impression that he had died so that he could live with his new partner.
