THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Railway board has given nod to Thiruvannathapuram-Kasargod third and fourth rail track and Thalassery-Mysore new track. This project worth Rs 60,000 crore would be a great blessing for Kerala. The final permission will be given if the Detailed Project Report (DPR) is submitted. The Centre will also give permission to get Japan loan.

The above development is the result of consistent discussions Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has been holding with Railway Board Chairman Aswini Lohani.
Thalassery-Mysore track’s DPR will be submitted within four months and Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod tracks’ DPR will be submitted within seven months. The expense for preparing DPR is 100 crore.

The project will be implemented by Kerala Railway Development Corporation in which State has 51 pc share and Railways has 49 pc share.
