NEW DELHI: According to several reports, CPM have decided to form an alliance with Congress to tackle BJP in the upcoming Loksabha election. The parties will join hands in as many as five states including Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra and West Bengal.
In the last CPM Party Congress, party reached a notion that an alliance can be formed with CPM depending on the political situation of states. But the Central Committee opposed this idea. But the formation of Grand Alliance under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership have brought change in CPM’s political agenda.
Central committee accepted three suggestions regarding the upcoming Loksabha elections- to overthrow NDA, increase seats of LDF, try for an alternate secular government. In Tamil Nadu, CPM will be allies with DMK-Congress group. The party will join Congress-NCP alliance in Maharashtra. In Bihar CPM will be part of RJD-Congress alliance. The party has also asked SP-BSP alliance for a seat in UP.
