IRITTY (KANNUR): An armed Maoist team reached Kottiyoor on Saturday. The team comprising one woman and five men arrived at Kottiyoor Ambayathodu town at around 6:30 evening bearing gun and other weapons.

Two men stood apart from the team and observed the town. They shouted slogans like, “RSS is spreading communalism, burning to death those who are against them, Modi is supporting…”.

They distributed pamphlets also in the town. Before they left, they gave a list and Rs 300 to a shop and got some materials packed. Their images have been captured by CCTV cameras and Kelakam police have started investigation.
