MALAPPURAM: Muslim League political affairs panel chief Panakkad Hyderali Shihab Thangal said the party will discuss the absence of P K Kunhalikutty MP during the discussion on Triple Talaq bill at the Lok Sabha. The party will convene a meet soon to discuss the issue.
The party has directed MPs to take necessary steps to cooperate with UPA and other parties to defeat the bill when it comes at the Rajya Sabha on Monday. Talks on it are being held in New Delhi. When the bill is defeated in the Rajya Sabha, a solution will be found to all the present criticisms. Thangal said Kunhalikutty was present at the governing body meet of Chandrika on the day the bill was considered in the Lok Sabha.
Meantime, all organisations want action to be taken against Kunhalikutty. Samastha leaders have personally met Thangal and demanded action against him. Thangal had sought an explanation from Kunhalikutty and he in turn had informed that he has given a reply to the chief. However, Thangal informed on Sunday that he has not directly spoken to Kunhalikutty after the incident.
In the meanwhile, the PDP will stage a march to the house of Kunhalikutty for betraying the Muslim community and seeking his resignation. The INL too had staged a march to his house yesterday demanding the same.
