THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: World famous American-Vietnamese photographer Nick Ut has expressed his support to Women’s Wall that will be formed on January 1 for “protecting renaissance values”.

He expressed this opinion while he was in Kochi to attend Kochi-Muziris biennale.

Earlier, actress Suhasini, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Rima Kallingal, Muthumani, Geethu Mohandas, Ramya Nambeeshan, Sajitha Madathil and film artistes Beena Paul, Bhagya Lekshami, Vidhu Vincent and Deedi Damodaran had expressed their support to the Wall.

About 220 persons had also issued a joint statement, expressing their support to the wall. They included C K Janu, K Ajitha, P Vatsala, Ashitha, Savithri, Rajeevan, Khadeeja Mumtaz, Nilamboor Ayisha, Meena T Pilla, Zeenath, Rajasree Warrier, Sheethal Shyam, Dhanya Raman, V P Suhara and Viji Penkoottu.

According to reports, about 50 lakh women will take part in the Women’s Wall which will be ‘built’ from Kasargod to Vellayambalam in Thiruvananthapuram on the western side of 620 km National High Way.

Minister K K Shailaja will be part of the Women’s Wall in Kasargod. The chief minister and two ministers will take part in a meeting in Vellayambalam.

Ministers have been given the responsibility to form the wall in different districts.
