THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Re-employment of empanelled employees now look bleak after KSRTC found that they have enough employees for smooth running of services. Transport department will be notified on this.
Transport department had enquired with KSRTC on the possibility of re-employing empanelled conductors after the long march on December 24 by empanelled conductors and their family members. KSRTC management directed unit officers to collect details directly from conductors. There was a sense of hope amongst the conductors as they submitted the required documents. Now employment looks bleak again for 3861 conductors and their families.
KSRTC management have also directed unit officers to compensate money from security deposit of those who haven’t returned their ID cards. Empanelled employees gave Rs 5000 as security deposit. They earned a daily wage of Rs 480. Empanel employees also complain that not even labour union who collected monthly fees are coming to their aid.
