THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two students who went to take bath Pananthura Pozhi (estuary) were drowned on Tuesday. Two students went missing and three others escaped from the tragedy.
The dead have been identified as Bheemapalli resident Ibrahim Badushah (17) and Puthuval native Rameez Khan (17). Bheemapalli native Navab Khan and Bismilla (17) went missing. The dead were the Bheemapalli Bheema Maheen higher secondary school Plus One students.
Ali Mukthar (18) who was with them was rescued by fishermen. He is under treatment in Medical College. He is out of danger; he is a salesman in a shop in the City. Jazeer Khan (18) and Abdul Rahim (18), who were also with the others, didn’t went into the sea for bath.
On Tuesday afternoon, the seven-member team of youths had gone to Pozhi near Poonthura Cheriyamuttom for bath. After taking bath once, the victims once again jumped into the water to jaws of death. It is the spot where Parvathy Puthanar and sea converged.
Poonthura SI Sajin Louis and team are camping in Panamthura. Locals have gathered at Poonthura police station and at the bank of Pozhi. The parents of the missing youths are also present. Search is going on for the missing youths.
