THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the clashes across the state are pre-planned and such incidents cannot be entertained. He also said that the government and police will fight such attacks strongly. “Devotees had not staged any protests on Wednesday following the entry of young women at Sabarimala. However, some people later started staging attacks and this will not be entertained”, said Pinarayi Vijayan.

“The government just implemented the Supreme Court verdict at Sabarimala upon the request of two women. They were not brought there in helicopter. They reached Sannidhanam through the regular path. Some people are trying to transform Sabarimala in to a battlefield and the government was trying to save the temple and our land from this. 79 KSRTC buses and 7 police vehicles were damaged in the attacks. This is BJP’s fifth hartal over Sabarimala issue and seventh staged by Sangh Parivar backed organizations”, he added.

He also said that the tantri’s action on Wednesday was contempt of court and clarified that devaswom board holds the power to close the temple.
