ATTINGAL: Attingal Avanavancheri native Sharath Purushothaman on Thursday won Dubai Big Lottery first prize worth 15 million dirham (Rs 28 crore).

31-yr-old Sharath has been working in Dubai as a technician. The late Purushothaman and Geetha’s son, Sharath, has been a lottery buff, whether he is in Dubai or India.

Every month, he buys a lottery. When in India, he has got lottery prize worth Rs 5000 only but he continued trying his luck. It was just six months ago that he returned to Gulf after his daughter’s thread tying ceremony. He usually buys ticket online. 500 dirhum is the cost for one ticket. Last month he took three lotteries. One among them brought him this big luck.

His marriage was in March 2017. Wife’s name is Karthika. Siblings Shyam and Sharan are in Abudabi.
