sabarimala-women-entry

KOZHIKKODE: Sabarimala visit of Bindu and Kanakadurga is only a start, more women will be sent to the shrine, says Navothana Keralam Facebook group. Bindu and Kanakadurga are members of this group. The group plans on sending two to three women per day to Sannidanam before Makaravilakku.

The group is administered by left extremists. After the day of Makaravilakku, the group has decided to send 50 women till January 20, when the temple closes. A secret meeting of this group was held at Thrissur recently. Five young men have come forward to assist women who plan on trekking Sabarimala.

No need of police assistance

Even though the police assisted Bindu and Kanakadurga on visiting the shrine, they didn’t take them through the holy steps or allowed more than two minutes at Sannidanam, said Sreyas Kanaran, an organizer of ‘Navothana Keralam Sabarimalayilekk’, to Keralakaumudi. So the group plans on not asking any further assistance from the police. They also thinks that magnitude of protests will be much less if women come in groups.

Sangh Parivar to stop women

Sangh Parivar have decided to stop women of menstrual age at Sabarimala, if anyone plan on visiting. Despite widespread conflicts in hartal, they believe that it helped uniting the Hindu community.
