THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The BJP is getting ready to jazz up the current political mood of Kerala post women’s entry in Sabarimala by bringing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and other Central leaders to Kerala. Thus they can make political gains in the run up to the Lok Sabha election, they thnk.

The BJP is trying to bring Modi to Kollam on January 15 in order to address the party rally. He will take part in the inauguration of Kollam bypass and BJP leadership meeting. Modi may also participate in the Yuvamorcha convention in Thissur on January 27.

However, the official announcement about his visit has not come.

Meanwhile, the State leadership is worried about the backlashes from the hartal, especially for attacking media.BJP MP V Muraleedharan’s call for exercising maximum restraint by party workers, even if CPM men provoke them, is notable. The BJP has plans to intensify protests in the coming days over entry of women in Sabarimala. On January 18, Sabarimala Karma Samithi has decided to lay siege to Secretariat.

In February, BJP national president Amit Shah will be in Kerala to evaluate the constituency-based organisational activities of the party. The BJP has been able to decide on its national agenda for the coming Lok Sabha election. Its assessment is that the Sabarimala protests have helped them make unification of Hindus a reality in Kerala.
