THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI(M) and CPI have come forward expressing their resentment against the statement raised by NSS that the government is trying to implement atheism in the state. Several leaders and ministers have come forward with harsh criticism against NSS general secretary Sukumaran Nair.
“The stand taken by NSS at present is encouraging the attackers. NSS should not take such a stand”, said Kadakampally Surendran. CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran has also come forward against NSS.
“NSS is not looking at things from equal distance. They are dividing the society in the name of devotion and they are opposing the left. Such attempts will not become success”, said CPI state Secretary Kanam Rajendran.
“NSS’s statement is baseless. They are committing many mistakes. They should not have made such a statement. At present, they are supporting Sangh Parivar and they should change their current stand”, said minister E P Jayarajan.
“NSS has made a statement which encourages RSS to stage more attacks and such stands will help RSS”, said CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.
The Nair Service Society (NSS) had slammed the state government on the Sabarimala issue. The government is responsible for the recent violence witnessed in the state. The government is trying to propagate fake secularism to promote atheism in the name of renaissance, the press release of NSS said.
The government has the liability to protect faith. If the government fails to implement it, there is nothing wrong on people unleashing violence. The government is implementing party policy with the power given by the people. The problems to be solved peacefully are being complicated, he said. Imposing prohibitory orders unnecessarily, trapping innocents in cases and creating anarchy are not suitable for a democratic government, the release said.
