THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The bottled water at cheap price to be launched by Kerala Water authority will reach the market in February. The construction of the plant at Aruvikkara for manufacturing bottled water is nearing completion. All machines have been installed. Water Authority is awaiting the approval of Bureau of Indian Standards, Food Safety and Factories and Boilers’ department.

The KWA expects to get the approval this month. The cost of the project is 16 crore. In Thodupuzha, the Water Resources department, has a water bottle plant. Water Authority’s plant will also be similar to this.

The bottled water will be available as half-litre, one litre and two litre bottles. There are also future plans to bring out 20 litre can. 7200 litre will be manufactured every day.
The drinking water will be manufactured through Reverse Osmosis and de-chlorination.

One litre bottle will cost Rs 15 and 2 litre will cost Rs 20. At Water Authority outlets, Rs 15 bottle will be sold for Rs 10. The bottles will be sold through Water Authority outlets and retail market. For this, outlets will be started in all districts.
