Deepa Nishanth, lecturer of Kerala Varma College and writer has come with a reply for the new allegation against her. The new allegation was that the lines in her Facebook bio was written by Sharat Chandran, a former student of Kerala Varma College. However, Deepa said that she heard these lines first from one Krishna Kumari teacher and the latter had written a post about it four years back. Deepa said at times we post our favourite lines in Facebook and Whatsapp under our photo and bio. We often don’t remember the name of the author. I really pity on those who consider this as an offence, she said.
Deepa landed in a plagiarism row again after Sangeetha, a former student of Kerala Varma College, alleged that she copied the lines of the poem written by a student without giving any courtesy. Sangeetha had posted in the Facebook that copying the lines of Sharat Chandran was not suited for one’s principles.
She came with an explanation after deleting the lines from the Facebook bio. Deepa, who enjoyed a huge following on social media landed in a plagiarism row after young writer S Kalesh alleged she copied the lines of his poem, written and published seven years back. She had tendered an apology later on the incident.
