KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday asked the state government whether there is any secret agenda behind the entry of women in Sabarimala. The high court devaswom bench asked the question while considering government’s report on women entry in Sabarimala. Not saying that the government has a secret agenda but those with an agenda should be identified, the court said.
The court asked whether the women who entered Sabarimala are actual devotees. The court directed the government to give an explanation on it. Sabarimala is not a place to perform protests either by the government, protestors or individuals.
Meantime, the court did not accept government’s report on allowing the private vehicle carrying Manithi team to proceed from Nilakkal. The court disapproved on the explanation that there were intelligence report that if they are stopped at Nilakkal and send by KSRTC bus, there will be law and order problems. The court then pointed that shows the inefficiency of the police. The monitoring panel on Sabarimala had the other day submitted a report criticising allowing the vehicle of the Manithi team to proceed from Nilakkal. The government had strongly opposed the report.
