KOCHI: Eranakulam - Angamaly diocese has landed in another backlash following the allegations against Syro Malabar Church in connection with a land deal. A document has come out showing that the ownership of the land was handed over to the diocese even 16 years before the establishment of the diocese.
The allegation is about the land situated in Vazhakkala, Kakkanad which was sold by the diocese recently to pay off it's liabilities. It is said in the document that the land was handed over to the diocese on 1976 March 9th. However, Angamaly diocese was established only on 1992.

The land was sold with the help of a third party. There is a probability that the documents were forged by the third party. The diocese officials have demanded an enquiry regarding this.
