NEW DELHI: A BJP team-led by general secretary Saroj Pandey who visited Kerala and got a first-hand account on Sabarimala issue will call on President Ram Nath Kovind. Leaders including V Muraleedharan MP are included in the team. Though it is a programme fixed at the party level, the meeting will have a lot of political dimensions at a time when the BJP has demanded to impose President's rule in Kerala. It is not clear on what all issues discussions will be held with the President.
A four-member MPs team was appointed by party chief Amit Shah to study the situation in Sabarimala. The team led by party national general secretary Saroj Pandey included National Chairman of Scheduled Caste Morcha Vinod Somkar MP, Prahlad Joshi MP and Nalin Kumar Kateel MP. The team after reaching Kerala had visited Sabarimala and other places. The team visitedK BJP state general secretary K Surendran in jail arrested for violating prohibitory orders. Before leaving, the team called on Governor P Sadasivam and submitted a memorandum blaming the government for playing politics on Sabarimala issue and sought a solution for it.
