KOLLAM: After days of political arguments and counter arguments, it is now confirmed that Prime Narendra Modi will reach Kollam on January 15 for the inauguration of Kollam bypass.
N K Premachandran M P informed on Wednesday that he had got intimation about the prime minister’s arrival in Kollam on January 15. The prime minister will arrive in a helicopter from Thiruvananthapuram at 5:20 pm and reach the venue of inauguration on 5:30 pm, according to the information from the prime minister’s office.
With this, the police have started tightening the security in the district. The special protection group of the prime minister will reach Kollam very soon.
Currently, the SPG commandos are in charge of the prime minister’s security.
Usually SPG makes security checks in places where the prime is supposed to visit.
Minister J Mercy Kutti Amma also said in Thiruvananthapuram that the government had got official communique on the prime minister’s visit. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan would also take part in the inaugural ceremony. “Once the prime minister informs about his decision to visit the state, we can’t neglect it,” she added.
The prime minister will attend a BJP rally apart from inaugurating the Kollam bypass. Kavanad Althathara moodu is likely to be the inauguration venue.
