KOCHI: Police doubts that Kochi beauty parlour shooting case complainant and actress Leena Maria Paul and underworld don Ravi Pujari might have reached a compromise in the ongoing standoff between them.
Leena was summoned days ago for recording her statement, but she had not turned up yet. There are also hints that Leena is not interested in doing a follow-up of the case.
Ravi Pujari first demanded Rs Five crore and later demanded Rs 25 crore from Leena. He even threatened to kill her if she didn’t give her money.
Police had formed three teams to search for Ravi Pujari and simultaneously collected the details of the actress’ financial deals.
Meanwhile, there has been no progress in the probe into the shooting case. The police have not been able to identify the shooters and currently they are collecting phone call details of Pujari and his gang.
The shooting incident at Leena Maria Paul’s beauty parlour at Kadavanthra took place on December 15 at around 2:50 pm. Two men, wearing helmet and jacket arrived on a bike. While one stood near the bike, the other person climbed up the stairs to the saloon and fired at the parlour using air pistol.
By the time locals and security guard rushed to the spot, the duo had fled the scene.
