KOCHI: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will participate in the ‘Aarppo Aarthavam’ programme on Januart 12-13 at Ernakulam. The event aims to declare solidarity against considering menstruation as a taboo. Noted Tamil director Pa Ranjith, KPMS state general secretary Punnala Sreekumar, CPI leader Annie Raja and Bienalle Curator Anitha Dubey will participate in the event.

Thousands of people will participate in the rally declaring that menstruation is not impure. The event had kick started on November 25 at High Court junction in Ernakulam. The programme’s logo depicts Ayyankali, who forces Panchami to go to school. The logo was revealed by noted dalit activist Sunny M Kappicaud. Pa Ranjith’s band ‘casteless collective’ will have its first performance in Kerala in the event. C K Janu, K R Meera, K Ajitha, Sunny M Kapicaud and Suni P Elayidom will participate in the event.
