SABARIMALA: The Pandalam Palace is likely to approach the Kerala High court following the revelation of P Manju aged 36 that she entered the holy shrine by acting as an old woman who was over 50 years of age. The palace is moving the court to bring out the truth. Manju, Kerala Dalit Mahila Federation state secretary, and a native of Chathanur in Kollam had on Wednesday claimed that she entered the hill shrine and had a darshan of Lord Ayyappa in the early hours of Tuesday. She also posted her photo offering prayers at the temple. The entry of advocate Bindu and Kanakadurga last week had triggered widespread protests in the state.
There was no confirmation on the incident either from the side of the police, devaswom board or the government. The palace is moving the court to convince the court on whether the woman disguised as an old age entered the shrine with the consent of the police and if so on whose direction and if it is not with the consent of the police, then it is a serious security lapse. The palace will inform the court their anxiety on the security lapses in Sabarimala. Maoists and terrorists too can enter the holy shrine like this. The palace attacked the government for blemishing the image of Sabarimala. Women activists are brought here in disguise and the agenda of the government behind it is clear.
