THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Devaswom Board President A. Padmakumar has said that he does not believe it was Sangh Parivar that took it to the streets for protecting traditions at Sabarimala. “If it was Sang Parivar activists, what would be their situation in Kerala”, he said in an interview to a private channel.
“We were not aware of women visiting Sabarimala before January 2. Allegations surrounding their visit are baseless”, he added.
“There problems would have existed even if the board submitted a review petition at the SC against the current verdict. I believe that politics and religion shouldn’t be mixed. That’s why the board is not taking any political stand. The board takes independent decisions”, Padmakumar said.
