KOCHI: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will not attend the programme Arpo Arthavam (Hurray, Menses) programme being held in Kochi. The decision was taken following the report that the organisers of the programme are extremists. The chief minister was to attend the programme in Kochi at 12 noon today. Kochi range IG had given a report to the office of the chief minister that the organisers of the event are extremists. Meantime, official explanation was that this programme was not charted in his schedule. The organisers say that thousands from all walks of life would attend the campaign celebrating and asserting gender equality. The inauguration of the campaign was held on November 25 at the high court Junction in Ernakulam following the protests over women entry in Sabarimala.
