food-poisoning

KULATHOOR: In the incident in which some Technopark employees suffered from food poisoning recently, the health squad conducted raids from nearby hotels and seized stale food on Monday.

After taking lunch, some employees vomited and had diarrhoea on Thursday and Friday. Soon after this, as many as 50 employees sought treatment from hospital.

In the inspection, health squads seized stale food items and old oil from hotels near Kazhakoottam and Technopark. Expired bakery items, flour, vegetables and meat were also seized. Notices were served on these hotels. They were also asked to send samples of the water they were using in their hotels for lab tests and submit the test results within a specific time.

The initial assessment is that the pipe water could be the reason for food-poisoning. Pradidhwani, an organisation in Technopark, also had complained to Mayor V K Prashanth after the incident.
