MALAPPURAM: Kanaka Durga, one of the two women activists who covertly entered Sabarimala temple recently, was allegedly beaten up by her in-laws, the moment she returned home today.

After making the controversial darshan that set off a series violent strikes and hartal in the State, the two women had gone into hiding.
It was today (Tuesday) morning that she reached the Perunthalmanna house. As soon as he reached the house, it was Kanaka Durga’s mother-in-law who first thrashed her.

Kanaka Durga was admitted to Perunthalmanna Taluk hospital after this. Hours ahead of Kanaka Durga’s ‘homecoming’, the police had arranged security around her house. It was police who took her to hospital.

Meanwhile, Kanaka Durga has not filed any complaint against the in-laws.
