MALAPPURAM: The Perinthalmanna police registered a case against Kanakadurga for beating her mother-in-law when she returned home after Ayyappa darshan. The case was registered on the complaint of her mother-in-law Sumathi. A case was registered against Sumathi the other day based on the complaint of attacking Kanakadurga.
Kanakadurga, who created history by entering the Sabarimala temple on January 2 on the basis of the Supreme Court verdict, returned home yesterday. Kanakadurga was assaulted by her mother-in-law by a wooden plank. She was later hospitalised at the Government District Hospital in Perinthalmanna after she suffered minor injuries on her head. In the meanwhile, her mother-in-law was also hospitalised with minor injuries as an aftermath of minor scuffle between the two women. The incident happened when four cops were on duty in front of her house as part of security. She returned home as her leave period as supplyco manager came to an end yesterday. She along with her friend Bindu entered the Sabarimala temple under police protection on January 2.
