NEW DELHI: The state government informed the Supreme Court that 51 women of menstruating age entered Sabarimala after Supreme Court allowed women of all ages to enter the shrine. The court produced the list in the court containing the details of the women. The women were mostly from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The government also asserted that 24 from Tamil Nadu trekked to Sabarimala during this festive season. The court did not consider it pointing that it was not their issue as to how many entered the temple.
It is notable that details of none from Kerala are there in the list. The list produced contained the names of women from other states who had registered online. Many of them were above 40. Meantime, Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran has confirmed the entry of 51 women in Sabarimala. We just produced the list of the 51women who reached Sabarimala. They reached the holy shrine via online booking. Nearly 7564 had registered online. Only 51 from the list trekked to Sabarimala. The minister said that it was impossible for the government to know their respective age.
