NEW DELHI: The investigation team has received crucial information about the human trafficking from Kerala through Vyppin Munambam. The information was received from Deepak and Prabhu, who were involved with a human trafficking group based in Chennai. They had promised to deport 200 people to Australia and had accepted Rs 1.5 lakh from each person.

They will be brought to Kochi and will be interrogated by Kerala police. At present, they are under Delhi police custody. Deepak’s wife and baby were also part of the group who had travelled to Australia. The group reached Kochi from Sri Lanka through Delhi and Chennai on December 28th. 66 people had stayed in a resort in Cherayi and 82 people had stayed in Chottanikkara on the day. There were no CCTV cameras at both the resorts. Pooja, who had stayed in the lodge had given birth to a baby in a hospital in Chottanikkara on December 31st. A golden bangle was found from her bag that was left back in the lodge. The police have found 73 bags from Maliankara and Kodungallur in which they have also found two birth certificates belonging to native of Srilanka.

I t has been reported that the group travelled to outer sea in boat called ‘Dayamatha’. The navy and coast guard have not yet found the boat. The group intends to transport the passengers to Malaysia and Australia.
