KOTTAYAM: Four nuns of Kuruvilangad convent has submitted a letter to the chief minister pointing that attempts have been made to sabotage the rape case against bishop Franco Mulackal. The letter states that they are receiving constant threats and the government should block the transfer of nuns. They also demand that they should be allowed to stay at Kuruvilangad convent and that they are being transferred in order to put pressure on them. “We had just helped the victim. Bishop is trying to escape from the case”, they said in the letter.

The church had issued a transfer order for sister Anupama, Josephina, Ancita and Neena Rose on Friday. Sister Anupama was transferred to Punjab and other sisters were transferred to several parts of India. The transfer order states that they are being transferred because of staging a public protest. The transfer order was issued by mother general Rajeena Kadamthott of missionaries of jesus cathedral.

However, the nuns had clarified that they are not ready to accept this transfer order. They say that the church is being vengeful against them. They also allege that they are being transferred in order to weaken the case. The order was issued on January 3rd and was handed over to the nuns on January 10th.
