THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A woman from the list submitted by the government in the Supreme Court has come forward revealing that she performed ‘darshan’ at Sabarimala. She has been identifiedas 48-year-old Santha, native of Velloor, and said that she visited the temple in November. She reached the temple with a 52-member pilgrimage group. Her husband Nagappan was also with them. Her official records state that she is 48-years-old.
The government had submitted a list of 51 women who performed ‘darshan’ at SabarimalA, while the court was considering the plea filed by Bindu and Kanakadurga seeking police protection. The government has clarified that the details were obtained from the virtual queue system. However, later several news came out revealing that many women in the list are more than 50-years-old. Many devotees from Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh said that they had given wrong details about their age in the documents. Meantime, one person in the list turned out to be a man, 47-year-old Param Jyothi, residing in Chennai. DGP has directed state police to investigate the matter.
