THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has come forward saying that 1991 High Court verdict regarding Sabarimala women entry is not legal. “Supreme Court overruled this verdict since it was illegal. Attempts are being made to portray CPM as a party which stands against people’s beliefs and faith”, said chief minister while inaugurating an event in EMS academy.
“Several attempts are being made to divide the society. The problems are being created by those who cannot accept gender equality. They have decided to stage protests against the government as they cannot do anything against the Supreme Court. The problems were created at Sabarimala by those who belong to upper castes”, said Chief Minister.
“Devotees are aware of the situation here. The protest staged by BJP in Sabarimala is a complete failure. CPM has not taken a stand against devotees. BJP started spreading such fake news. Many devotees stand with CPM”, he said.
