THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: V Muraleedharan MP and BJP state general secretary K Surendran have decided not to participate in the programme concluding the hunger strike observed by BJP leaders in front of the secretariat in connection with the Sabarimala issue. Muraleedharan faction had no interest in the protest over Sabarimala issue. Muraleedharan faction was also agitated with the stand taken by BJP leaders when K Surendran was arrested.

BJP ended the strike held in front of the secretariat on Sunday. BJP state president P S Sreedharan Pillai had said that the Sabarimala protest was a failure. BJP state general secretary A N Radhakrishnan, C K Pathmanabhan, Sobha Surendran, Sivarajan, P M Velayudhan, V T Rama and P K Krishnadas had observed the hunger strike.

The strike was called by BJP demanding to withdraw the section 144 declared at Sabarimala, dismiss the cases against protesters and K Surendran.
