THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: When glimpses of Sree Narayana Guru’s life story appeared on the silver screen, perfect silence filled the insides of Kairali theatre in Thiruvananthapuram. The occasion was the premiere of trailer of serial Mahaguru, produced by Kaumudy TV on Monday morning. Among the audience, there were Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and prominent personalities from various fields. As soon as the 30-minute trailer came to an end, the theatre reverberated with loud applauds.

The telecast of the 100-episode serial will start on Kaumudy TV on Feb 11, being the foundation day of Kerala Kaumudi newspaper. The slot will be from 7 pm to 10 pm from Monday to Thursday.

“Kerala Kaumudi has become successful in the portrayal of Sree Naranyana Guru’s greatness, vision, and life message,” praised Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan after watching the premier of ‘Mahaguru’ trailer. “Guru’s life story will have an impact on the society and it is the need of the hour. This serial will be a big success,” he added.

Ministers Kadakampally Surendran, G Sudhakaran, Sivagiri Madom former chief Swami Prakashananda, deputy speaker V Sasi, mayor V K Prashanth, deputy mayor Rakhi Ravikumar, V M Sudheeran, MLAs C Divakaran, V S Shivakumar, K Muraleedharan, CPI leader Pannian Raveendran, Kerala Kaumudi chief editor Deepu Ravi, Kerala Kaumudi joint managing director Darshan Ravi, Kerala Kaumudi deputy editors V S Rajesh and M M Subair participated in the event.

Later, the chief minister flagged off the road show in connection with the campaign for ‘Mahaguru’ by handing over the flag to Kaumudy TV broadcasting chairman A C Reji. Kerala Kaumudi Joint Managing Director and producer of ‘Mahaguru’ Darshan Ravi, Mahesh Kidangil, director of ‘Mahaguru’ and script writer ‘Manju Vellayani’ were felicitated by the chief minister on the occasion. Mahesh Kidangil, who is also Kaumudy TV programmes chief, gave the welcome speech.
