KOCHI: High court has directed to avoid multicolored LED lighting, powerful music system and colored graphics on heavy vehicles like tourist buses. The verdict came in a petition filed by Ernakulam native Jijith, G. Manoj Kumar from Kothamangalam and Anil Joseph Antony against MVD’s notice to remove such decorations.

MVD had issued notice to petitioners asking them to remove decoration and put up their vehicles for tests. The court has also clarified that time can be given to correct minor faults.

Directions

• Indicators and reflectors based on motor vehicle laws can be kept. However flexible-multicolored LED lights should be avoided.
• DJ lights and laser lights cannot be allowed.
• Powerful audio system, multiple booster, power amplifier and sub woofers are not allowed. Speakers should be according to the size of the vehicle.
• Accessories and graphics that hinder driver’s visibility should be avoided.
