THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI state executive meeting have decided to remove Kollam district secretary N. Anirudhan from the position and suggest former assistant secretary R. Rajendran. Anirudhan was selected to National Council last year in party congress.
This decision could spark debate within the district council. Name of P.S. Supal is also raised.
Last year in district conference, there were opinions to change N. Anirudhan. As the district is hosting party congress, he was allowed to continue in his position. A section inside the party says that there were assumptions to change Anirudhan after party congress. However there were debates regarding the successor. Now state executive meeting have decided to take out Anirudhan and appoint Rajendran in light of Lok Sabha elections.
