PALAKKAD: There was a murder attempt on CPM local secretary M K Surendran of Kannambra in Palakkad. The incident happened in the court premises in Aalathur. The police has taken RSS activist Sivadasan into custody.

The miscreants who were in their bike knocked him down in the court premises and later tried to hack him to death. Soon after the incident, RSS activist Sivadasan surrendered before the police. Surendran and Sivadasan are neighbours. The injured Surendran has been shifted to a private hospital.
